日本東北つなみ・福島第一原爆事件
The purpose of this Wiki is to be a clearinghouse for information and a one stop destination for answering questions regarding the earthquake/tsunami/ensuing nuclear crisis that northern Japan, and the nation as a whole, are facing. I will be soliciting questions through this pollseverywhere site. You may post your questions, and I will edit and re-post them here as topics to be addressed. For each topic, I will be inviting responses. My expectation is that you will provide an answer to the person's question in the form of a short paragraph. Your response must make direct reference to online articles that support your response, and you must give at least two citations. For my Japanese III and IV students, at least one source must be Japanese in origin. Each response is available first come, first responded, first served. Postings will replace your lowest daily grade as extra credit.
First things first.
If you've never used a Wiki you may benefit from watching this video:
Hopefully, that video will give you the idea-- this is a site where it's ok to leave your feedback. However, please be sensitive to the work of those who came before, and be careful about accidentally deleting material that is not yours. Please be sure to leave your name and the date that you updated the Wiki, so it will be easy for me to give you credit.
Finally, let me give you an example of an acceptable question/response: Question: Is the American military helping provide relief to earthquake victims in Japan? Answer: Yes, the American military is taking a leading role in providing relief to earthquake victims. Misawa Air Base, one of the largest American military bases in Japan, has become the center for staging international military relief efforts for the disaster area. The military has moved tons of food and other relief supplies to the region. The military has named this effort "Operation Tomodachi." The logistical challenges of mobilizing the millitary response has been complicated by the US Government issuing a voluntary evacuation order, leaving the military to also coordinate the possible evacuation of ten of thousands of American citizens from Japan to safe haven in the United States. http://www.npr.org/2011/03/20/134699706/japan-relief-efforts-centered-at-u-s-military-bases http://www.stripes.com/news/pacific/japan/relief-supplies-rolling-into-misawa-1.138368
